The 2012 Korean Language and Culture Training Camp were held for three weeks from August 6 to August 24. 170 foreign students from Germany, Japan, France, and the United Kingdom participated in this camp. The students in the camp visited Korea to learn about Korean culture and language.

Classes consisted of Korean culture classes such as graded Korean language lessons, hanbok experience, samulnori, taekwondo, traditional crafts, and traditional food of Korea. Also they visited Korean heritage sites such as Gyeongju, Yeongju, and Cheongdo to see historic sites and to experience Korean culture. Students had free time to experience Korean culture in person to increase their understanding of Korea. Through this camp, foreign students could understand more about Korea and Korean culture.

Baumgärtner Kerstin, who is a student at Bonn University, Germany, said, “I participated in the Korean Language and Culture Training Camp last year. This year I participated in the camp with my mother because I was pleased with the programs.”
