Keimyung University(Synn Ilhi, President) held “a joint recital with Fryderyk Chopin University of Music” in the outdoor stage on September 18 in order to commemorate 115th anniversary of establishment of Keimyung University.
Antoni Wit, professor of Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, conducts the orchestra and Im dong-min, professor of Keimyung University, who gets a prize as the first korean winner at Chopin International Competition for Pianists performed with Fryderyk Chopin University of Music which is one of three prestigious music educational institutions in the world. Above all, Orchestra of Fryderyk Chopin University of Music and Keimyung University accompanied performance.
The joint recital was held to commemorate 115th anniversary of establishment of Keimyung University as Keimyung University and Fryderyk Chopin University of Music has had close relationship. Both university set up a sisterhood relationship in 1993, based on the memorandum, scholar and artistic exchanges has been continued with the bachelor and master joint degree program(Keimyung-Shopin academy of music) in 1999. Professors of Fryderyk Chopin University instruct Keimyung university student directly.
Synn Ilhi, President of Keimyung university, has led to establish association of Korea-Poland in order to start the relationship between two countries based on international exchanges of universities. Thus, as the honorary consul general of Poland in Korea, he has contributed to develop the relationship between two countries. Based on his activities, Synn Ilhi, President of Keimyung university, was awarded several times, and one of them was the Grand Cross by government of Poland in 2000. Above all, through the special relationship, former president of Poland Kwasniewski gave a special lecture at Keimyung university in 2002.
