The program, 'Meeting the Mayor of Daegu with University Newspaper Reporters', was held on July 24th.

The purpose of this meeting was to talk about the promotion related to Daegu City Administration for 'Current information about Daegu', 'Improving of understanding about administration', and 'Infusing local patriotism of local University students'. There were 41 people participating in the program: 33 reporters, eight presenters from startup companies, four Daegu City Hall executives.

The program consisted of three parts. In the first session, there were three things: a briefing on administration, a special lecture, and a presentation on examples of startups. Kim, Jaekyung, a manager of 'Community and Economy', gave the special lecture on the subject of social economy and social enterprise. Following the lecture, four CEOs of startup companies (Modi, Itstalk, Happyken and Hopesoil) talked about their experiences and know-how.

The second session involved a field trip to Daegu’s metro Line 3, Palgon Innovalley and high-tech medical cluster. Line 3 will open in the last half of 2014. The Innocity project is being developed with five strategies: Colorful-city, Eco-city, U-city, Edu-city, and Medi-city. Of these strategies, Medi-city is going to have a high-tech medical cluster, which should have great economical ripple effects like these two: 1.5 trillion won as a production inducement and about 20,000 jobs as an employment inducement.

The last session was for conversation and dinner with the mayor Kim, Bumil. The mayor and reporters talked about diverse subjects such as culture, arts, creating jobs, university tuition, preserving natural landscape, and so on.
