On November 20, Keimyung University Caritas, Keimyung College University, and Daegu Office of Education had an event called “Loving our neighbors and giving kimchi” to help underprivileged people at Adam’s Chapel.
The ingredients of kimchi were prepared by Keimyung University and Keimyung College University staff who donated 1% from their salaries every month. Using those ingredients, the university prepared kimchi for 1100 houses. Also, they made a line over 100m long to make kimchi for 5 hours at Adam’s Chapel. Keimyung Caritas prepared 5kg of kimchi and rice and packed them in a box. They will give these to underprivileged people including low-income groups and families of grandparents and grandchildren.
President Synn Il-hi said, “I want to thank the students and staff of our university who participate in a variety of events every year to help the needy.”
Keimyung University Caritas was started voluntarily by staff to give something back to the neighborhood and to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the university.
