KMU student Im Hyun-mi (20), a freshman in the Department of Biomedical Engineering of the School of Medicine, was awarded the grand prize at the 2012 Undergraduate Conference organized by the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of Korea.

This contest was designed for university students and was held to promote undergraduate academic work in rehabilitation engineering at the society’s 2012 Annual Fall Conference. Im Hyun-mi presented a thesis on the development of an upper limb rehabilitation program based on mobile games (co-authors: Prof. Lee Jong-ha and Prof. Gu Jung-hun). It suggested a new model for rehabilitation exercise efficiency. She got two hundred thousand won as the grand prize.

Im Hyun-mi said, “Recently, biomedical engineering has had a big influence in the medical field, and I have had a keen interest in it since before university. After entering university, I regularly studied this field’s research with help from my major professors. I am very pleased to get this prize. I want to thank Professor Lee Jong-ha and Professor Gu Jung-hun.”
