On May 20, Kim Hye-soon, who is a professor in the Department of Sociology, received a presidential citation. Professor Kim has contributed to the advancement of immigration policy in Korea.
Prof. Kim is a well-known scholar of immigration and multi-cultural society in Korea. In addition, she has worked on a consultative committee for immigration policy since 2007. She played a major role in establishing the Department of Migration and Multicultural Studies in Keimyung University Graduate School of Policy Studies. Moreover, she promoted many programs to help foreigners in Korea, like Active Brain Tower University, which tries to develop harmonious relationships between Koreans and foreigners.
Prof. Kim’s work has helped Keimyung University become known for studying multiculturalism and immigration. She is widely considered an expert in multiculturalism and immigration. She plans to study immigration policies more deeply.
