Hengso Museum

Hengso Museum of Keimyung University has organized many archaeological expeditions, academic conferences, and special exhibitions, as well as diverse educational programs since its opening in May, 1978. It has now gained recognition as an outstanding cultural institution exhibiting artefacts representing not only local culture and history but also the culture and history of all of Korea. This new museum building was opened on the 50th anniversary of the founding of Keimyung University on May 20, 2004 and was named Hengso Museum after the pen name of Dr. Synn Ilhi, President of Keimyung University.

With its many unique genre paintings and archaeological artefacts excavated from the ancient tombs in the southeastern part of the Korean Peninsula near Daegu City and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, Hengso Museum is striving to establish its own distinctive identity as both an archaeological museum and an art history museum. In addition it is doing its utmost to provide its visitors with various educational programs and diverse special exhibitions.
