The long, sweltering summer has come to an end, and we now welcome autumn—a season of abundant harvest and the promise of new beginnings. Just as the earth has grown stronger by enduring the summer heat, I sincerely hope that each member of the Keimyung family will find renewed strength, peace, and fulfillment in the days ahead.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our faculty and staff who dedicated their summer to preparing for the new semester. I also take pride in our students who engaged in volunteer service in Mongolia, Ethiopia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, and Cambodia, embodying Keimyung’s spirit of compassion and service to others. Our pride is further enriched by Jang Joon Ha of the archery team, who won both a gold and a silver medal at the 2025 World Archery Youth Championships, bringing honor to Keimyung on the world stage.
Last semester, Keimyung University was selected as a candidate for the national “Glocal University 2025” program. During the summer recess, more than forty committee members have worked tirelessly, day and night, to prepare the implementation plan and evaluation materials—an invaluable process in which the collective wisdom and dedication of the Keimyung family came together to shape the future. Building on this foundation, we are charting a new course as a “Global Bridge University,” linking Daegu with the wider world and contributing to the city’s growth as a global hub.
This summer, our campus welcomed more than 300 international participants through nine global programs, including the Bridge to Keimyung Camp and the Korean Language and Culture Camp. These programs testify to the worldwide recognition of Keimyung’s internationalization efforts and the strength of our Korean language education.
In the 2025 Annual Evaluation of the University Innovation Support Project, Keimyung achieved the highest results—an S grade in educational innovation and an A grade in internal performance management. These achievements affirm our systematic and ongoing commitment to innovation across curricula and operations, establishing a cornerstone for our identity and future development.
Following last semester’s 69 appointments, we are delighted to welcome 45 new professors this semester. Their expertise will enrich our academic depth and ensure that our students are equipped with the knowledge and skills most needed in today’s world. As we begin the admissions process for the Class of 2026, I ask for your full support in attracting bright and promising students to join the Keimyung community.
A university must be more than a place where knowledge is transmitted; it must lead the spirit of the age and foster holistic education that enriches lives and advances humanity. Keimyung will remain steadfast in preserving timeless values while presenting bold, future-oriented visions through challenge, perseverance, and innovation.
May God’s grace be with each of you and your families, guiding your steps toward a healthy and flourishing future.
Sincerely,
President
