The Center for Advanced Technical Usability and Technologies, Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, was selected for the project, ‘Center for Usability Evaluation of Elderly Friendly Products’ conducted by Korea Health Industry Devlopement Institute(KHIDI). And it operates until 2024 for 5 years. The selected centers are in Daegu Seongnam and Busan, and this is the only one in Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province.
Center for Usability Evaluation of Elderly Friendly Products is a project to promote the standardization of the evaluation system for elderly friendly products and enhance growth of the industry by improving elderly friendly products’ stability and convenience through the usability evaluation.
The Center for Advanced Technical Usability and Technologies is specialized one in the Republic of Korea supported by Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy(MOTIE) and Daegu Metropolitan City. It provides reliable results of KOLAS certified institutions in various product usability evaluations including medical devices, home appliances and epidemiological testing(elderly friendly products). In addition, this project will provide professional usability evaluation to the producers.
Center for Usability Evaluation of Elderly Friendly Products will conduct usability evaluations of elderly friendly products necessary to select excellent companies where produce high quality products, operated by KHIDI. And, it supports 80% costs of usability evaluation of the elderly friendly products. Applied companies can get helps in order to be selected as designated company by KHIDI based on results of usability evaluation.
Prof. Jongha Lee, Director of The Center for Advanced Technical Usability and Technologies, says this center is selected as Center for Usability Evaluation of Elderly Friendly Products, we will make efforts to maximize effectiveness of verification and improvement of usability evaluation to producers of elderly friendly products through the linkage of professional manpower at College of Medicine, Keimyung University and Daegu Techno Park.
