On March 21, Keimyung University held a Nevruz event. Nevruz is a holiday in Central Asian countries such as Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan celebrating the spring equinox. It was registered a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2009. Students and local residents enjoyed the event.
International students from Central Asia introduced their native cultures in Chopin Plaza and Hae Dam Concert Hall. The audience experienced their culture through a hands-on experience event, too.
KMU has been doing many things about Central Asia. The Silk Road Central Asia Institution opened last September. Another is the Silk Road Humanities International Academic Conference, which was held from October 30 to 31. KMU has been trying to promote understanding and cooperation with Central Asia.
