Remembrance Ceremony to Commemorate the 70th Anniversary
of the Korean War

- On June 25 at 11:00, a Remembrance Ceremony to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Korean War was held.

- Played ‘Mozart Requiem K.626’ with a Pipe Organ

 

  Remembrance Ceremony was held at Keimyung University to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Korean War and its patriots.

  Rev. Dr. Chong Soon Mo, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Prof. Synn Ilhi, President of Keimyung University, and along with them, approximately 100 faculty members participated in this ceremony which was held in Adams Chapel, on June 25 at 11:00. They have remembrance time for Korean War veterans by commemorating the 70th anniversary of the War.

  Along with the devotional service, Prof. Choonhae Kim played ‘Mozart Requiem K.626’ with a Pipe Organ in Adams Chapel in order to admire spirit of the patriot together. And under solemn atmosphere, Prof. Lee, Hwa Young and Prof. Ha, Seok Be, professors of major in vocal, delivered a memorial song, along with piano performance by Prof. Lee, Sung Won, professor of Major in Piano.
 
  Keimyung University has continued various occasions to commemorate the 70th anniversary.
 
  During last winter break, while a volunteer work was implemented in a combatant nation and supporting nation for the 70th anniversary, they had time to express gratitude and repay for them.
 
  Voluntary work group members visited ‘Korean War Veterans Memorial’ during periods of the voluntary work in Ethiopia. And, they spent a meaningful time to meet with veterans who were still alive and expressed heartfelt appreciation for them. The veteran told vivid stories of the time to students. In particular, students shed tears over the sad story that veterans were persecuted and led a difficult life for helping the capitalist country by the communism regime in Ethiopia when they returned from the war sacrificing their lives for another country.

  Prof. Lim, Kyungsoo, Dean of the Chaplaincy, said it marks the 70th anniversary of the Korean War, and they have spilled lots of the blood to secure our country, and we are here today in exchange for their lives. He also mentioned we must not forget their sacrifice and this tragedy should not happen in this land again.
