PHOTOGRAPHY&IDEA: ENGLISH FOR PHOTO MAJORS(2)

  1. Course Description
    본 과목은 사진미디어전공 학생들이 영어생활이 일상에서 자연스럽게 강화될 수 있도록 유도하기 위한 강좌이다. 이를 통해 학생들이 대학생활 속에서 읽기와 쓰기, 그리고 말하기 등에 친숙할 수 있도록 한다.
  2. Course Objectives
    Learning and understanding photography terms and conversations in English via important photographers in the history of photography and other photographic content. Students will also practice expressing their opinions in Englsih about topics and photographs shown in class.
  3. Teachnig Method
    This class will be conducted in the English language. Basic English conversational skills are a must and you will be called upon to participate and give opinions in English.

  5. Assessment
    Attendance: 10% - 1. For each late day, one point will be subtracted. 2. For each absent day, two points will be subtracted. Midterm Exam 20% - This will be a test that evaluates the students' understanding of the topics covered during the first half of hte semester. Final Exam 20% - This will be a test that evaluates the students' understanding of the topics covered during the second half of the semester. Assignment 20% - This will be a final portfolio of 10 images created inspired by, an homage to, or a parody of the photographers we look at in class. Journal 20% - This will be a daily journal (diary) related to your development as a creative individual. You may write notes about exhibitions, ideas, etc. Advisement 10% - Students are required to schedule an appointment with the professor outsdie of class during the semester to discuss their progress in their works.
  6. Requiments
    Even though this is part two of the Photo & Idea series, there are no requirements or prerequisites to take this class. All are welcome to join. However basic English conversational and listening skills are strongly recommended. You will otherwise have a lot of difficulty in the class.
  7. Practical application of the course
    To learn common and professional photography terms and expressions used by English speakers and also to become a more creative individual.
