COMPUTER MICROPROCESSOR MATERIALS PROCESSING

  1. Course Description
This class studies materials processing for computer microprocessors. The main focus is the thin film deposition techniques such as physical vapor deposition and chemical vapor deposition. The thin film materials related to semiconductor manufacturing industry and integrated circuits will be studied. The properties and deposition for metal and insulator thin film materials are also included. Other processing methods related to computer microprocessor industry, such as etching and lithography, will be briefly discussed.
  2. Course Objectives
Familiarize the students with CMOS technology and integrated circuits manufacturing technology.
  3. Teachnig Method
The students are required to attend class and join the class discussions, and review the teaching content after the class. The students should submit the homeworks, reports, and exams before the due date.
