PUBLIC HEALTH THEORIES AND METHODS

  1. Course Description
    이 과정은 학생들이 기본적인 내부 및 외부 사람간의 공중 보건 이론을 이해하고 평가할 수 있도록 구성된다. 이 과정을 통해 공중 보건의 이론이 건강 증진 및 예방에 적용하는 방법을 검토할 수 있으며, 또한 이론 중심의 보건 교육, 건강 증진, 건강 중재 등을 학생들에게 소개함으로써 학생들이 행동 변화의 결정 요인으로 공중 보건 이론을 적용할 수 있도록 한다.
  2. Course Objectives
    At the end of the course students should be able to (1) describe how theories are used in public health and health promotion, (2) describe various types of health behavior theories, (3) describe a process of identifying theoretical constructs to be used in planning health education and promotion interventions, (4) define the major constructs of each theory, (5) explain the historical development of each theory, and (6) understand how to apply appropriate theories in designing intervention related to a specific behavior.

  7. Practical application of the course
    The course is designed to help students acquire understanding and evaluation of the basic intra-and interpersonal public health theories. The course reviews how public health theories are applied in health promotion and prevention. Moreover, the course will introduce students to theory-driven health education, promotion, and intervention, and thereby help students apply the constructs of public health theories as determinants of behavior change.
