BASIC WRITING

이 과목은 과정 중심 글쓰기를 지향하며 글을 통한 의사소통 능력을 기르도록 하는 것을 목표로 한다. 강의의 전반부에서는 글쓰기의 의미와 필요성을 이해하고 글쓰기의 과정에서 필요한 방법과 기술을 익힐 수 있도록 한다. 더불어 글쓰기의 기초가 되는 우리말 어문 규정과 올바른 어휘와 문장 쓰기를 연습할 수 있게 한다. 강의의 후반부에서는 정보전달을 위한 글, 설득을 위한 글, 자기 성찰 글에 대한 장르별 특성을 이해하고 장르의 특성에 부합하는 글을 쓸 수 있도록 다양한 글쓰기를 실제로 경험해 본다.

Students will be able to plan and research, write, draft and revise simple academic essays, papers, and dissertations.
Students will be able to identify and define the different types of academic essay.
Students will be able to cite and reference all sources to standard practices.
Students will be able to explain the ethics of plagiarism and the sanctions of student plagiarism.
