SPECIAL LECTURE OF KOREAN LANGUAGE EDUCATION

  1. Course Description
    언어교육과 관련한 새로운 접근과 관점들을 살펴본다. 특히 국어교육과 관련한 주요 정책과, 연구 성과, 쟁점을 이해하고, 국어 교육 및 연구의 실행 방향을 탐색한다.
  2. Course Objectives
    After successfully completing this course, students should be able to: • identify and analyze the features of premodern genres and texts; • explain the relationship between historical events, changes in society, and literature in the Late Chosŏn; • engage in independent and guided investigation of materials and texts; and • express their thoughts, participate in discussions, and write compositions on relevant topics.
  3. Teachnig Method
    Students will be expected to read literary works and related articles, prepare and deliver presentations, participate in in-class activities and discussions, and submit assignments by the due dates.

    Students will have to use English dictionaries (Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary, hard or electronic copy, is recommended) for their activities. During the process of preparing writing assignments and presentations, students must receive editing help from the University writing center.
  7. Practical application of the course
    Knowledge of history, society and literature will be helpful for taking other related courses. Critical thinking and the ability to read and analyze texts and to conduct research might be used in further study and work.
