CLINICAL PRACTICUM IN MATERNITY NURSING(2)

본 교과목은 여성의 부인과 질환 대상자가 건강과 질병의 연속선상에서 변화하는 환경에 적응하고 건강을 유지,증진 및 회복할 수 있도록 하기 위해 여성의 생식과 관련된 간호문제를 간호과정에 적용하여 해결하는 능력을 기르도록 한다.

The clinical practicum on maternal nursing aims to:
1. provide an opportunity for students to apply the knoweldge, principles and theories of maternal nursing care management
2. promote critical thinking through actual handling of maternal cases with altered health problems
3. enhance the nursing skills of students as they perform actual nursing procedures related to treatment, diagnostics and other health management of high risk pregnancies and sick mothers.
4. develop the communication and interpersonal skills of students in dealing with various health care situations, clients, families and members of health care team
5. provide an opportunity for the development of caring attitude when dealing with families and sick mothers

During clinical practicum, students are expected to demonstrate the following:
1. punctuality and complete attendance to assigned schedule of duty/practicum
2. assertiveness in actual performance of nursing-related skills with supervision
3. maximize the clinical duty hours by constant review and analysis of the data in the EMR/Kardex and other forms of documentation and other relevant activities in the unit/ward
4. able to bulid a trusting and effective nurse-client relationship as well as to members of health care team

The students are expected to have background on the following:
1) Anatomy and Physiology
2) Fundamentals of Nursing
3) Pathophysiology
4) Pharmacology
5) Health and Nutrition
6) Maternal Nursing

The completion of this course will provide an opportunity for students to:
1. apply the knowledge and principles related to maternal nursing care management
2. develop their nursing skills in dealing with actual high risk pregnancy and maternal cases
3. develop their competence, compassionate and caring attitude in caring for families with high risk and sick mothers
