DESIGN PRESENTATION(LECTURE IN ENGLISH)

  1. Course Description
    디자인프레젠테이션는 건축학과와 생태환경디자인과 사이의 새로운 방식이다. 이것은 2011년에 3월에서 5월에 걸쳐서 한 학기에 동안 시행된다. 각 과의 2학년과 3학년을 대상으로 한다. 학습목표 : a.국제적 범위로써의 전문용어, 텍스트, 단어와 글쓰기를 이용하여 건축과 조경 프로젝트를 묘사하여 표현한다. b.학생들의 영어회화 구사와 자연스러운 표현을 하도록 권장한다.(이해력-읽기 & 이해, 구성력-쓰기, 발표능력)c.학생들의 프로젝트를 공간적으로 표현하기 위하여 학생들의 영어사용을 친숙하도록 가능하게 한다. d.이러한 적용과 방법으로 학생들의 전공과목에 적극적으로 반영할 수 있도록 한다. 교과시간은 일주일에 3시간으로 한다.
  2. Course Objectives
    The course focuses on reviewing weekly conceptual understanding of architectural methodology of representation. During this course, students will become familiar with analysis of sketches, drawings, graphs, diagrams, and small/larger-scale models.
  3. Teachnig Method
    Absences/Lateness: More than 15 minutes late will be considered as an absence. An excused absence requires a letter from a doctor or KMU administration. More than 10 unexcused absences will receive an "F" grade in the course. Assignments: Due at the beginning of class on the day they are due. LATE ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Late responses will be given a grade of "0." Cell Phones/Computers: Cell phone volume to be turned off in class. Academic Integrity Any plagiarized work will receive an “F” grade for the assignment, and an "F" grade in the course. While in this class we learn from each other and may use aspects of another person's work, their work must be acknowledged explicitly. If the project is a collaborative effort, then all collaborators must be acknowledged.

    Weekly Design Response Structure: The first part of design response summarizes what issues the particular architectural method raises for you. This tells me how you have digested the material, how you have made it yours. The second part is a question pertinent to the specific design method that is of your interest, which we will discuss in class. A good question is something that is based on the foundation of the design method and that you actually want answered. There is no right or wrong question, but there is rigorous analysis of architectural method and lazy respond to study. Rigorous analysis will lead to impressions, thoughts, and comments that in turn will lead to good quality design solution. Design Idea The conceptual idea corresponds to the issue and problem you find. The question to ask yourself with this assignment is: What kind of space would result from your design question? The design idea should make direct reference to the question. You should be able to discuss how your model embodies specifics of design question.
  7. Practical application of the course
    The outcome of this course is technical knowledge of architectural methods. In this course student learns different methods of representing architectural idea. During semester, students will go through the process of designing project. This process will be guided by search for replying particular spatial question. This course prepares students for their further study and career as architect.
