  2. Course Objectives
This course will give you the opportunity to develop two types of knowledge which are at work when you teach English as a second/foreign language: received knowledge and experiential knowledge. Received knowledge consists of the vocabulary of the subject and the matching concepts, research findings, and theories and skills which are widely considered to be the necessary intellectual content of the profession. You will begin to develop this knowledge through reading and class discussion. Experiential knowledge is developed by practicing the profession and by reflecting on this practice. You will begin to develop experiential knowledge in this course by planning and teaching mini-lessons in class, through discussions of case studies, and through homework assignments that will help you reflect on your own practice. It is our hope that this course will give you the foundational knowledge base that is required of pre-service English teachers. In addition, based on the 2015 revised educational curriclum, the class aims to help learners deveop their autonomy in learning process and cooperative ability by enccouraging them to work as a team.
