The course Comparative Politics offers an overview of the basic concepts, theories, and methods used in the field of Comparative Politics. This course aims to provide students with a foundation for understanding and analyzing political systems, institutions, and processes across different countries and regions. - Course Objectives
The course will provide knowledge about the reasons for the huge differences between countries which exist in regard of stages of development, political processes and political systems. Students will gain an understanding of how these differences are based on specific historical developments and particular political cultures. They will learn how to compare systems, institutions and politics of various countries.
- Teachnig Method
Active participation is expected. Each student is required to visit the consulting hour of the instructor at least once a semester. Ideally, students fulfill this requirement when they prepare for the presentation they have to hold in this course.
