ACADEMIC WRITNG I(KAC)

  1. Course Description
    This course is designed to develop critical thinking and academic writing. However, elements of grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and paragraphing enter into the course. This course is a foundation for the student to build the rest of their English-focused curriculum.
  2. Course Objectives
    Students will be able to use English in its standard written form to express ideas effectively, critically, and persuasively. Students will also be able to analysis language at the paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, and word level.
    Students will be able to describe aspects of critical thinking, as well as common rhetorical strategies, and apply these to their own writing.
