COMMUNICATION ENGLISH Ⅲ

  1. Course Description
    This program is designed to give students the confidence and ability to communicate in everyday English conversations. This program focuses on practical daily conversation. In this class we will approach language learning through presentation, reinforcement, and expansion of communication forms and structures that promote the gradual but secure development of the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills gained in previous classes.
  2. Course Objectives
    The goals for this course are: 1. To improve communicative competence. 2. To build confidence in various aspects of communication (i.e., presentation, small-group and large-group discussion, problem-solving). 3. To improve pronunciation and clarity of communication. 4. To expand vocabulary. 5. Provide further instruction on how to survive in an English-only environment.
  3. Teachnig Method
    he rules for this course are as follows:

    1. Attend all lectures.
    a. Classes missed without a viable excuse will carry a penalty.
    b. If too many classes are missed, a grade of ‘F’ will be given as we per university policy.

    2. Be on time.
    a. for class.
    b. for submission of assignments.

    3. Bring all required materials to class.

    4. All classroom functions will be conducted in English.
    a. Warning for breaking this rule will only be given once.

    5. Cell phones/smart phones/laptop computers are not necessary in the classroom.

    There are no pre-requisites for this course (though KAC students should have received a passing grade in Communication Skills I before enrolling in this course).

  7. Practical application of the course
    The skills learned in this class will be applicable throughout the rest of a student’s academic career and beyond.

    Practical skills include: Presentation skills, group discussion skills, problem-solving skills, second language environment skills.
