COMMUNICATION ENGLISH Ⅲ

  1. Course Description
This program is designed to give students the confidence and ability to communicate in everyday English conversations. This program focuses on practical daily conversation. In this class we will approach language learning through presentation, reinforcement, and expansion of communication forms and structures that promote the gradual but secure development of the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills gained in previous classes.
  2. Course Objectives
Students have their own goals, and they will be supported in those goals. This course aims to give students greater confidence, experience, and wisdom to work without teacher guidance. The focus for tasks is to work independently and creatively, with students forming their own plans, using their own interests, and working alone or in groups to fulfill their plans.
  3. Teachnig Method
This course follows all relevant KAC and KMU policies regarding the grading curve and attendance. Attendance is important, and tardiness has a negative effect on your score.

All students are expected to comport themselves in a professional and respectful manner, towards themselves, their classmates, and the instructor. Students are responsible for their work, for managing their time, and for being aware of and following deadlines and instructions. Failure to do so will have negative consequences for your work.

  6. Requiments
This course will involve a number of tasks ("projects") which involve various kinds of communication skills, and will at times require students to work alone and in groups. Tasks will be briefly previewed, and students will be expected to take initiative in proceeding independently (alone or within a group) from the introduction. Although many of these tasks are previewed in Communication Skills I, in this course, the standard for performance is higher, and a greater degree of student autonomy, effort, insight, and overall achievement is expected.
  7. Practical application of the course
Students of KAC and employees of modern companies require the ability to communicate - convey ideas and emotions - in a variety of ways. This course aims to address those needs by offering a variety of challenges for students, in terms of novel task type, planning challenges, and opportunities to express themselves creatively.
