NURSING ACTION ENGLISH

본 교과목은 간호실무영어 능력의 향상을 목적으로 자기표현 기술, 치료적 의사소통, 정보수집 기술 및 보건의료 문화의 역할 등의 네 영역에서 필요한 영어를 실습한다.

Given a simulated nursing scenarios, the students should be able to:
1) Develop self-awareness and self-concept for an effective nurse-client relationship (PO12)
2) Demonstrate effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills for therapeutic nurse-client relationship (PO12).
3) Demonstrate competence in communication with clients in various nursing situations. (PO12).
4) Recognize the ethical, cultural consideration and developmental needs during the process of relating with clients/individuals (PO12)
5) Deal with social and global issues affecting nursing profession with confidence and competence.(PO12).

Throughout the semester, the students are expected to demonstrate the following:
1. Punctuality and complete attendance in the class
2. Active participation during lecture-discussion, presentation and group activities
3. Self motivation and willingness to enhance communication skills for effective nursing care
4. Proper conduct and behavior in and outside classroom
5. Acknowledgement and respect to one another's strengths and weaknesses

1) Individual/Pair/Group Work (Interview, Oral Presentation, Debate)
2) Active participation in classroom activities
3) Motivational and willingness attitude in communication skills enhancement

The completion of this course will provide an opportunity for the students to:
1) gain self-confidence and enhancement of self-esteem in dealing with English-speaking clients/individuals
2) enhance their communication skills with confidence in various health care situations both local and international level
3) develop their cross-cultural communication skills effectively in dealing with diverse culture in health care setting
4) adapt and deal with various nursing situations with necessary knowledge, skills and attitude.
