BUSINESS COMMUNICATION

  1. Course Description
    본 교과목은 비즈니스 커뮤니케이션의 기초적이고 전반적인 내용을 학습하고 이를 실습하여 커뮤니케이션 능력을 배양하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 구체적으로 비즈니스 커뮤니케이션 관련 이론과 개념을 학습하고 배운 내용을 바탕으로 다양한 주제와 형태의 비즈니스 커뮤니케이션을 실습하고자 한다. 본 교과목에서 학습한 커뮤니케이션의 스킬은 비즈니스 실무 현장은 물론 일반적인 대인관계에서 적용할 수 있기 때문에 다양한 측면에서 폭넓게 활용될 수 있다.
  2. Course Objectives
    After the successful completion of this course, students are expected to be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary for writing, speaking, listening, interpersonal and intercultural communication. Students should be able to: - Analyze communication situations and audiences to make choices about the most effective and efficient way to communicate and deliver messages. - Conduct research that includes the use of Internet and electronic library resources to complete activities. - Provide feedback, accept feedback, and use feedback to improve communication skills. - Deliver effective business presentations in contexts that may require either extemporaneous or impromptu oral presentations. - Write business documents that are grammatically correct and use appropriate business style. - Develop effective interpersonal and intercultural communication skills. - Use communication technology appropriately and effectively.
  3. Teachnig Method
    1. Use of smartphone for a personal call, messaging or playing games is highly discouraged. Smartphones can only be used as a dictionary or in classroom activities that will require the use of it. 2. If you leave the class to use the bathroom, make sure to do it politely and according to the professor’s instructions. 3. Do not leave the class at any time without your professor's permission unless it is an emergency or if you are suddenly very sick. 4. If you are late you will be marked late (3 times late is equal to 1 unexcused absence). 5. Korean should not be spoken in a loud manner during the instructional time. It is understood that there are times when Korean translation is necessary in order to comprehend a situation that is unfamiliar. However, please first ask your instructor if it’s “ok” to translate. 6. No laughing at other students when they are trying to speak English. 7. No cheating.
