CROSS-CULTURAL COMMUNICATION(LECTURE IN ENGLISH)

  1. Course Description
    This course focuses on business communication methods, including etiquette and manners. Under the circumstances of globalized market, students are expected to understand international culture and to learn efficient communication skills. Subjects are on international culture & local customs, business writings, and negotiation skills.
  2. Course Objectives
    Specific course objectives include, but are not limited to:
    1. Increase students' understanding of how culture influences communication, and how it interacts with social and psychological factors to influence communication;
    2. Enhance students' ability to explain cultural differences in communication and to identify barriers to effective intercultural communication as well as problematic issues resulting from cultural differences such as concepts of time, personal space, body language, family, and social behaviors;
    3. Enable students to appropriately communicate with persons from different cultural backgrounds in various social contexts.
