  1. Course Description
    Introduction for creating several characters and objects, using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. We will work the process with pencils, markers and ink on paper. Images will be scanned and rendered using the above mentioned software. Introduction and development of concepts such character design, environment design, composition, light, mood and style.
  2. Course Objectives
    Improvement of students' drawing skills. Review of the fundamental base of drawing; lines, shapes, forms and color. Students will be directed to work on this aspects of drawings by using graphic tablets. Concretely, students will put in practice the concept of value, and how to draw and achieve three-dimensionality on simple shapes. Students will also review their skills of scene composition, focusing particularly on distribution of light and shadow, in order to create a realistic atmosphere.
  3. Teachnig Method
    Using cellphones in class is not allowed. As the class is conducted in the computer laboratory, no drinks are allowed during classtime. Students must make the effort to communicate in English. Students must be on time for the begining of the lesson. Students must be submit the homework and assigments on time.

    Students must submit homework, middle term project and final project, in order to pass the class. Fail to present the final project for the exhibition, without a justifiable reason, will lead the student to fail the class.
  6. Requiments
    Students must communicate in English with the teacher. Students will listen and understand the instruction for the class practice. Then they have to start the project during class time, under the supervision of the teacher, and complete the task at home, before the beginning of the next class.
  7. Practical application of the course
    With this class students will improve their skills in general drawing with graphic tablets. Students will acquire a deeper understanding of scene composition and distribution of lights, as well as experience in the process of designing objects and characters with a digital tablet.
