  1. Course Description
    패션디자인을 전개함에 있어서 인체와 의상의 상관관계를 조형성의 측면에서 깊이 있게 분석하고 예술적으로 창작할 수 있는 것을 목표로 한다. 주어진 테마에 따른 디자인의 전개과정을 통하여 자유로운 발상과 예술적 소재표현, 창의적인 구성방법 등을 개발시켜 의상에 대한 조형적 접근을 통한 창의적인 예술의상 제작 능력을 배양시킨다.
  2. Course Objectives
    The class aims is for students to be able to experiment, take risks and practice design & making. It aims to further train students’ research ability and technical skill in presentation approaches. The goal is to educate socio culturally aware, critical and technically skilled young designers. The rapid digital development of the fashion industry will be taken into consideration, allowing students to present and share their work to a wider audience and evaluate how digital technology influences the practice as a whole. It aims to foster collaboration with other disciplines within art and the University.
  3. Teachnig Method
    The studio is to be kept tidy, considering health and safety regulations. Students should inform the professor if they cannot attend. If a student misses more than 30% of classes (4 classes) it will result in an F grade. If the absence is medical related, students must provide a relevant certificate from a doctor by the end of the semester. Punctuality is required. Plagiarism is strictly forbidden. Students need to work independently in class and at home , taking charge of their individualprogresst and time planning.

    The grading criteria and project submission requirements will be explained in detail at the orientation. The project (Mid-term 30%Final Exam 40 %), will be graded holistically
  6. Requiments
    Basic English communication skill. A willingness to experiment, take risks and work with new concepts and material. Basic art & design research skills. A willingness to collaborate.
  7. Practical application of the course
    The class is a preparation for those who are working on their collection next year, and open to anyone who wishes to further explore their artistic capability in regards to fashion design and artistic practice. It will train students to achieve a balance between commercial and noncommercial design approaches to find their individual style and situate their practice. The technical skills will be a foundation for further studies. The research and analytical skills gained, will be relevant when working not only in the fashion but also in the wider creative industry. It aims to support independent learning and decision making.
