- Course Description
이 교과목은 아동과 아동복지에 대한 이해를 높일 수 있는 이론적 배경과 실천 방법을 학습하여 아동복지 분야에서 활동할 사회복지사의 능력을 배양하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 아동복지의 개념과 가치, 아동복지의 역사, 정책과 제도, 실천대상과 관련서비스, 실천방법과 기술 등의 이해를 도모한다. 나아가 한국에서 사회복지사들이 관여하고 있는 아동복지관련영역을 고찰하고 외국사례 중에 우리의 현실에 적용 가능한 부분을 모색하고, 사회복지사로서 전문적 실천능력을 향상시키고자 한다.
- Course Objectives
1. Develop a vital concern for families and children and their potentialities; their cultural diversity; and their experiences in neighborhood and community.
2. Develop am overall orientation to a the family as a unit of analysis, and to the services concerns of family preservation, kinship care, services to children at risk, continuity in family relationship, and culturally appropriate services.
3. Identify problems necessitating family and child services, see how these problems are related to institutional gap in the provision of appropriate services.
4. Become familiar with the policies, practices, and goals of current family and child welfare programs.
5. Learn how services to families and children interact with the larger social and political structure, cultural values, and global forces of trends, and the profound way these affect the goals and implementation of social services.
6. Integrate the international perspectives of child welfare policies and practices into South Korean context and identify the best policy and practice for child welfare in South Korean context.

Sleeping during Class: Sleeping during class will not be tolerated.
Attendance and active participation are expected; absences or late arrivals may be reflected in the student's grade. Please come prepared to participate in class.
