INTRODUCTION TO SOCIAL WELFARE

본 교과목은 사회복지의 학문적 연구와 실천에 관한 지식을 개괄적으로 소개하려는데 목적이 있다. 먼저 사회복지의 개념, 사회복지의 가치와 이념, 사회복지의 발달과정을 이해한 후 사회복지학의 연구 및 실천 방법, 사회복지의 미시적 분야와 거시적 분야, 사회복지 실천방법론과 사회복지정책과 제도, 그리고 사회복지 실천의 주요분야를 살펴보고 마지막으로 사회복지의 학문으로서의 연구전망과 사회제도로서의 실천적 전망을 살펴본다.

Students are expected to become competent in the basic knowledge of the social work profession and the social welfare system including: - Knowing the historical and philosophical origins of social welfare and the social work profession. - Understanding of the values and ethics that are the foundation of the social work profession. - Identifying current social problems/issues (e.g., poverty, discrimination, child abuse, homophobia, and ageism) and their effect on social welfare and the practice of social work. - Identifying social work fields of practice and role of the generalist practitioner within those fields. - Becoming familiar with the current NASW Technology Standards.
