INTRODUCTION TO INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS [INTRODUCTION TO INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS]
This introductory course explores the key concepts, theories, and debates in international relations, providing students with a foundation for understanding contemporary world politics. It examines the roles and interactions of states, intergovernmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, multinational corporations, and other global actors. Major topics include power and sovereignty, foreign policy, conflict and cooperation, international security, the global political economy, international law, and global governance. Through historical and contemporary case studies, students explore issues such as geopolitical competition, inequality, human rights, climate change, and the impact of emerging technologies. The course develops students' ability to apply international relations concepts and theories, critically evaluate competing perspectives, and construct informed, evidence-based arguments about global affairs.
